MUSIC NOTES!!!
Music Education has it's own very unique disciplines. Music relates and transfers onto other subject areas. To inform you and at the same time musically educate you.
Listed are few music concepts that you may not realize.
-We encourage the development of good Rhythm which improves coordination and reading skills
-Music is rhythmically based on the subdivision of time into mathematical fractions
-Reading and writing music is very complex. Music is the universal language-music semantics and symbols are exactly the same all over the world
-We ask students to evaluate and formulate Performance Skills (their own and others) through selective listening
-We ask students to use critical thinking skills for the interpretation and performance of music from the different time periods.
-Creative writing assignments-students are asked to write stories, critiques, explanations and descriptions
-Music expands the imagination of all ages
-Like Social Studies, Music History, and the study of: reflects the environment, the beliefs, and feelings of time.
-We have put in place a Music Resource Library
-Music deals with emotions that effect all individuals
-Music teaches communication skills, verbal and nonverbal
-Improves the fear of public speaking through performance.
